Lucy Hale Named One Of The ‘Next Women Of Country’

A proud announcement has come in the case of Lucy Hale, star of Pretty Little Liars. The new country singer has become a new addition in this year’s CMT’s Next Women of Country campaign! The campaign, according to the site, “showcases the rising generation of signed and unsigned female superstars with exclusive content including video premieres, performances and more.”

Lucy is really excited about being such an addition and says on her Facebook: “It’s such an honor to be included in this year’s CMT Next Women of Country campaign. I look up to so many of the talented women who have been part of this campaign and am really excited about this year’s class!”

Lucy Hale to Stream Grand Ole Opry Debut

Country newcomer Lucy Hale will fulfill a lifelong dream Friday night (Feb. 21) when she makes her debut at the Grand Ole Opry. The singer and actress will share the entire experience with her fans via a new live-streaming and chat application, Hang w/.
The app, which works with either an iPhone or and Android, will allow Hale to broadcast her complete performance, so those unable to make the show can still enjoy Hale’s momentous occasion in real time.
The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star announced earlier this week that her freshman album, ‘Road Between,’ will be released on June 3.
“This has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl singing Faith Hill and Shania Twain songs into my hairbrush in the mirror,” Hale says. “It was both exciting and scary for me to be so vulnerable making this album, and it’s turned out to be something genuinely me and something I’m really proud to share.”
The songstress will undoubtedly sing her first single, ‘You Sound Good to Me,’ when she takes the Opry stage. Other performers joining Hale Friday night include Kellie Pickler, Mel Tillis, Pam Tillis, Diamond Rio, John Conlee, Jim Ed Brown and ‘Nashville’ TV stars, Lennon & Maisy.

Lucy Hale Talks Fighting Dating Violence, Her Dream Duet + More

As her character learned in last week’s “Pretty Little Liars,” relationships can be very confusing. While Aria is figuring things out, Lucy Hale is moving ahead at a super hero’s pace and fighting teen dating violence along the way.

We caught up with the country crooner to find out how she’s helping mark fight teen dating violence, what her dream volunteer gig looks like, and more!

ACT: February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness month. For your fans who want to get involved, how can they help raise awareness?

HALE: Working with m.powerment by mark I’ve learned that one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime and women between the ages of 16 and 24 years old experience the highest rate of abuse.

m.powerment by mark works with some great organizations like No More, Break the Cycle and LoveIsRespect.org, a unique partnership between Break the Cycle and the National Dating Abuse Helpline that helps teens and young adults ages 13-24 navigate the spectrum of healthy relationship behaviors. I want to help bring awareness to these resources and let people know that they have a place to turn if they’re experiencing dating abuse or partner violence.

ACT: You just filmed a video showing off two new “Mighty Pretty” bracelets. What can you tell us about them?

HALE: I love the Mighty Pretty Bracelets! It’s a great bangle that I wear as a statement piece, and the best part is that 100% of the net proceeds from each item sold are donated to the cause.

ACT: We’re so excited about your upcoming album! When will it be released? What do you love the most about the new album?

HALE: Thank you! My debut single, “You Sound Good to Me” is out now on iTunes and my full album will be out later this Spring. Working on the album was an incredible powerful journey for me. Music will always be my first love and passion and I’m so excited to share it.

ACT: How do you have time to act, record an album, hang with family and friends and everything else? Any tips on getting things done?

HALE: It’s definitely a lot to have on my plate, but fortunately love what I do. The hardest part is not seeing family as much. Thank God for technology ! I’m texting my mom & sister constantly.

ACT: If you could do a duet with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

HALE: That’s a huge question, but maybe Dolly Parton. She’s done so much for women in country music and has always had a strong point of view.

ACT: If you could volunteer with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

HALE: I love St. Jude and am so impressed with all that they do. So, probably them! Or Operation Smile.

ACT: We want your words of wisdom! What do you wish you knew when you were 17 that you know now?

HALE: To not be so hard on myself. To love your quirks, love what makes you stand out from the crowd.

ACT: Any tips for having fun, even if you’re not dating someone?

HALE: Surround yourself with friends! I’ve always considered myself a girls girl and some of my best memories are nights just hanging out with friends who support me.

Gimme Five: Lucy Hale’s Biggest Album Influences

Last month, “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale launched her music career in grand fashion with the debut single “You Sound Good To Me,” a country music offering that marked her first Hot 100 entry. In a little over a month, the official video for “You Sound Good To Me” has earned 2.5 million views on YouTube, setting Hale up for a debut album on Hollywood Records, due out this spring.

“I don’t think I’ll ever quit acting, but in my heart, I feel like I’m a musician,” Hale told Billboard last month. The singer/actress says that her first full-length will feature a mix of country and pop, and although fans will have to wait a few months to hear the full collection, the 24-year-old has listed five artists that made a huge impact on her growing up, and will surely be heard as influences on her debut LP.

Eight Ways Lucy Hale Is Ready for Country Music

This is a big week for actress-turned-country-singer Lucy Hale. Her debut single “You Sound Good to Me” was officially added to the playlists at several country radio stations. And already, 33 stations are playing her song in her first week on the radio.

But even though the star of TV’s Pretty Little Liars is brand new to this country music thing, it sounds like she’s already ready for what lies ahead. She knows how to kill time on a bus, how to keep her voice strong and how to react properly when she hears her song on the radio.

In a recent interview with industry publication Country Aircheck, Hale revealed some details about her life that make me think she’s fully prepared for this new chapter in her life.

1. She knows how to kill time on airplanes. “SkyMall is definitely my inflight entertainment. I’ve never actually followed through with purchasing anything, but once I saw a mermaid tail, and I wanted it. Because why not?”

2. She knows how to kill time on a tour bus. “I’m only on level 29 on Candy Crush! Can you believe it? I’ve been playing for a month and can’t get past that level. I need more sprinkle donuts.”
