Lucy Hale Heats Up Paper Magazine’s Winter 2015 Edition

Lucy Hale Heats Up Paper Magazine’s Winter 2015 Edition

Showing off her fetish side, Lucy Hale poses up a storm in the Winter 2015 issue of Paper magazine, coming soon to newsstands.

Shot by photographer James Lee Wall, the “Pretty Little Liars” lady wears skin-tight bodysuits, a bondage inspired mask and even incorporates a rope in one of her pictures.

Lucy shared, “There are plenty of hidden secrets about me. Those will remain hidden. I think a lot of people would be surprised to know that I’m not very social. I’d much prefer to ‘Netflix and chill’ than anything else. I hate getting ready, and large crowds make me anxious.”

We Made Lucy Hale and Her Makeup Artist Kelsey Deenihan Play the Newlywed Game

Proof Lucy Hale and Kelsey Deenihan spend too much time together: Neither saw what the other had written before flipping these boards over.

Five years ago, if you had asked any girl on the street who so-and-so’s makeup artist or hairstylist was, you’d most likely get a blank stare. But thanks to the rise of Instagram, suddenly the pros behind your favorite celebrities’ signature looks are becoming stars in their own rights—amassing thousands, if not millions, of followers. And along with this new 24/7 all-access, behind-the-scenes pass, something truly awesome has happened: We’ve been able to follow the budding friendships between celebs and their glam squads. So much so, that sometimes it even feels like we’re a part of their group. This dynamic sparked the idea for the series Beauty BFFs.

In this edition, we caught up with Lucy Hale and her go-to makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan at the mark. HQ in New York City, and challenged them to play our version of the Newlywed Game. (You know that old-school game show where the host asked recently married couples all sorts of random questions about the other—that one!) They weren’t allowed to know the questions beforehand or look at what the other was writing on her answer board. Follow along and listen in on how well these beauty BFFs really know each other. (Hint: They probably put you and your main B to shame.)

Lipstick: What is Lucy’s ultimate makeup obsession?

Hale: “Bold lip with strong lash line.” Deenihan: “Smoked eye with lashes (or whatever she wrote).”

Kelsey Deenihan: We were half right!

Lucy Hale: Well, kind of half right. Recently, I’ve been obsessed with a bold lip and a strong lash line. I used to be a smoky eye girl and would only stick to what I was used to, but Kelsey helped me break out of that and try crazy lip colors. I’ve always loved a good strong lash, though, because I feel the best with it.

KD: When we started working together, I think she felt like herself mostly with a big eye and a neutral lip. But we’ve been trying new things.

LH: I feel like I’m a fun person, so why not try things that reflect my personality. I’m fun, right?

KD: Yeah, you’re fun! That was like halvsies. That was a great start.

Lucy Hale Spills the Advice She Got From Jana Kramer

Country newcomer Lucy Hale first found success on television, starring in ABC Family’s ‘Pretty Little Liars.’ So, when another actress-turned-songstress Jana Kramer — formerly of ‘One Tree Hill’ — gave her some advice, Hale made sure to listen up.
Hale, who was born and bred on country, says that music is her first love. But sometimes, it can be tricky to go from one successful career (which in her case, is acting) straight into another sector of entertainment.
Kramer would know the difficulties — after all, she left ‘One Tree Hill’ to hone in on her music career. She’s now working on upcoming new album, but it hasn’t been an easy trek to build her country music platform from the ground up.
Needless to say, Hale would be wise to heed her advice.
“She did give me some great advice. She’s like, ‘They’re going to put you through the ringer. It’s going to be especially hard for you; it’s going to be a little different considering what you’re known for,’” Hale dishes.
The ‘You Sound Good to Me’ hitmaker notes that the songstress was very supportive and kind, which is always heartening to hear.
Perhaps while they’re gabbing about career advice, the two gals can also commiserate on how frustrating love can be. Kramer’s engagement to Brantley Gilbert ended in August, and Hale very astutely confirms, “I’m single.”

Lucy Hale, Kellie Pickler & More Attend Country Cares for St. Jude Kids

Lucy Hale, Kellie Pickler, Sara Evans and Scotty McCreery were among the country stars who gathered with more than 1,000 country music industry leaders in Memphis January 16-19 to kick off the 25th Anniversary of the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids program to support the work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The annual seminar event, started by Alabama’s Randy Owen, is one of country music’s largest gatherings. In addition to raising awareness and funds for St. Jude, the seminar also gives St. Jude patients the chance to visit with some of their favorite artists and celebrate them along with radio partners who together have raised more than $500 million for the hospital.

“It’s inspiring to think about the major impact the country music industry has had on St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and I am so grateful to all of the men and women in country radio and fellow artists and friends in the country music industry who lend their support for this organization that I hold so dearly,” Randy Owen said. “The turnout for this event is further evidence of the country music industry’s continued commitment and support of the research, treatments and cures provided by this amazing place that has saved the lives of countless children from around the world.”

Lucy Hale, a Memphis native, has a personal connection to St. Jude. Her stepsister was a patient at the hospital at just four months old with stage IV neuroblastoma. “They thought she was going to die, but she is 18 years cancer free,” Lucy said. “My stepfather says that the people who work here changed their lives. This place is a Godsend. The people who work here are 100 percent dedicated. This puts things in perspective. I’m leaving here inspired. These kids are so unbelievably strong. It just makes me want to be a better person.”

Lucy Hale To Guest Star on How I Met Your Mother

On ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, Lucy Hale plays the emotionally complicated and fashionably eccentric Aria Montgomery. On the CBS hit comedy How I Met Your Mother though, Lucy portrays a bubbly character named Katie who happens to be Robin Scherbatsky’s adorable younger sister. And guess what? According to TVLine, Lucy is set to reprise her role in an upcoming episode in the series’ final season. We can’t wait!

Even though Lucy guest-starred on HIMYM only once (for the episode titled “First Time in New York”), it was fun seeing her show off her comedic chops. She really rocked the role and gave a hilarious performance as a naive teenager who comes to the big, bad city, and eager to part with her good girl image, decides to experiment with smoking and alcohol. The highlight of the ep is when Katie tells her older sis that she plans on losing her V-card to some chump named Kyle. Robin freaks the hell out because she basically views Katie as a baby, not to mention that it’s super awkward. Luckily, Robin’s ex-lover/best friend Ted Mosby gives Katie the “talk” and convinces her not to rush things for some guy. Katie takes his advice, and as a consequence, Kyle breaks up with Katie. Ultimately though, Katie and Robin ends up having a blast together in NYC!

That being said, we’re eager to see what Katie is like these days, now that she’s a bit older and wiser. Do you think she’s still the same wild child who practically gave Robin gray hair during her stay? Or will we see a whole different side to her? Either way, we’re excited to find out and see Luce back in action as Katie!
